RANKING AND SCHEDULE

MONDAY COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

Volley Boréal has been using MyTeam.Click  for several years to manage game nights.

MyTeam.Click  allows for team ranking and automatically generates schedules.

Team Rankings

During the first two (2) weeks of the season, teams are evaluated to determine their level. The twenty-four (24) teams (Intermediate and Advanced) are then manually ranked based on the assessment of their level.

Pool Formation for the Season

Eight (8) pools consisting of 3 teams are distributed across the eight (8) courts available for the Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Here is an example of pool distribution

Cumulative:

Starting from the third week, teams accumulate points according to the following principle:

The twenty-four (24) teams are grouped in a format where between 1 and 24 points are available during game nights.

After each game night, the points are distributed from Pool #1 to Pool #8.

During a game night, the winning team in Pool #1 will accumulate 24 points, the winning team in Pool #2 will accumulate 21 points, and so on until the winning team in Pool #8, which will accumulate 3 points. By this principle, the teams finishing second in their pool will respectively receive 23 points, 20 points, 17 points, down to 2 points for Pool #1.

To determine the first, second, and third place in each pool, the system works as follows:

  • Sorting by ratio of matches won/played between all teams;

  • In the event of a tie, sorting by ratio of matches won to played between the tied team;

  • In the event of a tie, the sorting by ratio of points for/against between the tied teams;

Example of a tiebreaker

Once the points are established, the system generates the next schedule by moving up the first team from the pool and moving down the last team from the pool. Therefore, there is movement between the pools each game night.

During the last two game nights of the season, we organize a tournament based on the total cumulative score of the season.
