LEAGUE ACTION PLAN

For more than two (2) years, fixed teams have been integrated into the recreational division, under different conditions depending on the season. It was an opportunity to promote participation in our Odyssee tournament but also in the tournaments of the sister leagues.

Members' interest in maintaining fixed teams within the recreational division has grown, and an increase in enrollment in both internal and external activities has been observed. We have also observed that the level of play of the members has improved. In the summer of 2023, the beach volleyball league took shape, allowing the service to be extended throughout the year. We have also hosted several one-day tournaments over the past few years.

Volley Boréal has grown in popularity over the years and we now have a long waiting list of members of the LGBTQ+ community who show interest in joining our league. It was therefore in the fall of 2023 that a transformation of the divisions into 3 phases began in order to take the league to another level.

PHASE 1 (completed):

The first phase consisted of transforming the equivalent of 6 teams from the recreational level to the intermediate level in order to make permanent the formation of teams from a level below the advanced level (previously called the semi-competitive level). It was an opportunity to meet the growing demand from members.

PHASE 2 (completed):

The league has completed the second phase. The pools in the Advanced, Intermediate and Recreational divisions were grouped together. The ranking system set up with the Myteam.click application therefore makes it possible to rank the teams according to a common formula. This formula allowed teams to move up or down the pool, all divisions combined. You will find the indications of the classification system by  clicking here.

PHASE 3 (in progress):

The third and final phase consists of maintaining 24 teams on Monday evenings with open pools and varying levels between AA, A, BB, B, C and C+ and the opening of a new evening to accommodate the recreational division. Phase three (3) is currently being evaluated and we are looking for facilities to offer an additional evening with the objective of offering social (recreational) volleyball. Until then, the recreational division will have up to 24 people spread over a court and teams will be formed randomly every Monday.
